Your Support Matters!

Help Maninplace change the lives of people who are homeless in Telford and Wrekin by pledging your support.

Armed Forces Day takes place on Saturday 28th June and stands as a tribute to the many serving personnel of our military services, as well as the countless, veterans past and present, who have served to protect the shores and global security of the United Kingdom.

Maninplace has assisted a number of veterans who have found themselves in a place of need due to homelessness. Access to a safe and secure home is a fundamental right to be afforded to all people. Equally, the people who have served our nation within the armed forces should have the ability to access accommodation and support services, coupled with acknowledgement and awareness of additional support needs they may have as a result of active service.

The transition from active military service to civilian life can prove challenging for some. It can result in loss of employment, family and relationship breakdowns, ill mental health due to post traumatic stress, and homelessness. At such a time of need, there should be no barriers to accessing help and support.

Maninplace is committed to the Armed Forces Covenant, recognising the value given by service personnel and veterans, and working to reduce obstacles to access help and support at their time of need. We have also sought to provide employment opportunities for ex-military members, acknowledging their transferrable skills and experience can benefit those within our accommodation.

As we mark the 2025 Armed Forces Day, we pay our respects to the veterans no longer with us, and give thanks to the many serving personnel who continue to protect our nation as well as the veterans who are an important part of today’s local communities.
